FRODSHAM MARSHES - A WILDLIFE HAVEN

This website is a free and open resource that has been developed to help birders and wildlife enthusiasts to contribute and to share their local knowledge about the Frodsham Marshes. If you have an interest in the marshes then please feel free to share your thoughts, knowledge and sightings with other visitors to this site.

I have added a number of pages with images of birds that I understand to be common or seasonal visitors to the marshes however please contact me if you would like me to add a bird page and image that is not already featured on the site.

The Frodsham Marshes are located to the West of Frodsham in Cheshire where the River Mersey meets the River Weaver and the Manchester Ship Canal. The marshes offer excellent bird watching opportunities and a number of rare birds can be seen throughout the changing seasons.

A wide variety of birds gather on the marshes and migrating visitors can offer surprise sightings for birding enthusiasts. Recently sightings of Hen and Marsh Harriers have been noted and regular sightings of Short and Long Eared Owls are being reported also.

Access to the marshes can be gained via Marsh Lane at the end of Frodsham High Street or via Godscroft Lane adjecent to Helsby High School.

A Google Map of the Marshes can be seen below:
